

AR Rahman has been and continues to be his mentor His strong foundation in Carnatic music and expertise in R&B genre brought him to the attention of the legendary Indian musical genius AR Rahman. Since then, he has moved back to India and currently lives in the town of Mylapore. Since his graduation, he has been regularly visiting India and performing Carnatic concerts, including as a part of the December Music season - Marghazhi Utsavam. After graduating from Mission San Jose High School.In 2008, he joined the Berklee College of Music and graduated in music production and engineering. He simultaneously started picking up R&B. His concerts in Carnatic music was a springboard for his career in playback singing. Carnatic music has been a foundation for his musical journey and source of inspiration and vocal timbre. He started learning Carnatic music since he was 3 years old he continues to be an avid student of Carnatic music. His musical skills were nurtured by his mother, Latha Sriram, a Carnatic music teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area. He moved with his parents to California when he was a year old, and he grew up in Fremont. Sid Sriram was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India to Tamil family.
